Subject: I Just Bet...
that more than a couple of those "Mexican" men in this film in later years played bridge at the Mizell Center in Palm Springs..

and for that matter it would be more interesting if they had used Ann Miller in her high heels. Doncha think?

plays the tamborine and dances and sings better that Stevie Nicks, so what's the problem.

Subject: Ole!
The 'Mexican Hat Dance' soundie is great...the leading lady has some fancy footwork, shows her undies, and bangs a mean tambourine...what more could anyone possibly ask for?

Subject: hot tambourine action!!!!
So this dorky-looking chap is hanging out with his sombrero-clad mate and he sings a rather silly tune to this wanton woman. It turns out that it is merely to coerce her to come out of her adobe hut and stomp on his sombrero. Perhaps something is lost in the "cultural" translation, but Chappie looks quite pleased by the glimpses of knickers flickering during the dance. But that's not all! Wanton Woman is really looking for some hot tambourine action, and she wows the crowd by doing some fancy footwork and BANGS IT ON HER HEAD! Quite the saucy Soundie.

I donÃÂt know, I kinda doubt that an authentic Mexican hat dance involves a miniskirt and showing off your lacy underwear. And the serenader looks a little too blonde to be Mexican. They got the music mostly right, though.

Subject: Interesting adobe for sure
In a totally surreal soundie, a mexican mariachi singer sings a lovely song to a pretty senorita. He then throws his hat on to to the ground and she then performs a pretty standard Mexican hat dance (with the patented Soundie underwear glimpses) she does a couple of high kicks... interesting move there, and then LITERALLY walks next door to... a soundstage!!! Where on earth in Mexico can you find an adobe house right next to a soundstage with a full mariachi orchestra? She then takes her tambourine and does a MEAN tune with it. I was impressed! This is a MUST seen on this site!
